Leiden Marathon 2026 – Run, walk and experience!
On 9 and 10 May 2026, it will be that time again: the 35th Leiden Marathon and the 7th Walking Marathon are just around the corner! What once started as a sporting adventure has now grown into the party weekend of Leiden and the surrounding area.
The 2025 edition was one to remember: thousands of runners, a record number of walkers, a sunny Saturday full of fun in the city and villages... and that unique Leiden atmosphere everywhere. We want to recreate that feeling in 2026 – and preferably surpass it!
Whether you come for the sporting challenge, the beautiful routes through the city and countryside, or simply for the atmosphere: Leiden will not disappoint you.
Walkers follow the same beautiful route on Saturday as the runners on Sunday. One lap, a full experience, and volunteers everywhere to assist you. Because for 35 years, we have had one simple slogan:

Register quickly, because we were sold out in 2025 too. You can register until 1 May 2026, after which we will close registration.
The fees for the Walking Marathon are:
• 10 km: €17.00
• Half Marathon (21 km): €22.00
• Full Marathon (42 km): €32.00
